Mediation
There are many formal definitions of mediation and there are also numerous different interpretations of what those formal definitions actually lead to in any given mediation. Some mediators adhere to one particular model of mediation and will not depart from that model. At Conflict Management Consultants (an integral part of Skinner & Associates) we believe that one of the great strengths of mediation is its flexibility. Whilst we are committed to providing a generally facilitative process we are equally committed to ensuring that whatever process is used that process is appropriate for the parties and the issues that we are actually working with at the time. Whilst the cookie cutter approach to mediation can still be effective it cannot hope to be as successful as a tailor made process. We have both theoretical knowledge, gained from some of the best mediation practitioners in the world, as well as enough experience physically working with people in conflict to help our clients select a process which will best advance their individual interests.
